My house of munchkins

A southern mom trying to raise her kids in a crazy world.

Little man

First let me tell y’all.  I had this set to publish yesterday!  It didn’t happen!  I hate when things malfunction!

A year ago today my world was changed.  I had my third child.  My little man.  My Zack.  My grand finale in the baby business.  I could not be happier!  He is an amazing little thing.  I wish I could stop time and keep him young and unaware of the worldly things.  Basically, I’d like to shelter him forever.  But, I won’t.  I will let him make his choices.

Over the last year he has taught me more than I could imagine. Zack has showed me just how old I really am.  I love every minute of it.  So, today, Zack, I love you and hope your day is filled with as much happiness as you bring me!  Happy Birthday.

OK so here is what I have to say today… since what I had planned for yesterday did not happen!

My list from the other day did not get completed.  I only had time to do the necessities.  And let me just say, that was more than enough.  On Friday night I packed up all three kids and headed to Wal-mart.  I had to pick up some last minute things and have the balloons filled.  I headed straight to customer service.  I handed the lady 32 balloons and a spool of string.  I told her I had some shopping to do so I was in now big hurry.

We headed off to find forks.  Do you know that you can’t buy just colored forks.  NO…. you have to have the cutlery medley.  I don’t want all that.  Just Forks please.  So we had to settle for the white ones.   Next we were off to buy juice and water.  That was pretty easy.  Then we were off to get the usual household goods.  Before I left I had a buggy full.  When all the shopping was finished, we went to get the balloons.  I wish y’all could have seen Zack’s little eyes.  They almost popped out!  He was so funny.  He just stared and pointed.  I would have a picture, but it would never have worked with me holding 32 helium filled balloons.

The best part of that trip was trying to carry 32 balloons, push a buggy, and then somehow manage to unlock the doors!  Tyler and Abbey were having a major breakdown!  They were so worried that the balloons were going to carry me away!  I was just laughing at them.  It would take a serious amount of balloons to float me off!  Trust me!  People were staring at us and all I could do was laugh.  I managed to unload the buggy, stuff 32 balloons in the back, and strap Zack in his car seat with out popping one single balloon.

On the way home I got so tickled thinking about them popping in the night.  I could just imagine the kids screaming because they thought someone was shooting!  Of course they were still worried about us getting out of the Explorer when we got home.  Again, I managed, but not without one poor balloon meeting its fate.

The party was fun and I have a ton of pictures!  I’ll have to show a few a day!

This is what I found Saturday morning! ALL 32 on the floor! What a waste of my money! I could have just blown them up at home!

  1. deanna Said,

HA! I loved reading your balloon story.

Now let me tell you mine! (HA!)
The night before Weston’s birthday, Dwayne & I blew up 24 balloons, by mouth! My plan was to have them on the floor for the kids to play with the next day at the party. After we blew them up, I stuck them over into Weston’s baby bed (since he no longer sleeps in it)….The next day I totally forgot about them….This was on June 9th…and today is July 28th, and those dern balloons are still in his baby bed!!!!!! I’m not making this up, I promise!
