I wanted today to be the giveaway, but I just could not find the time to sit at the computer yesterday. Just promise to come back tomorrow! I am so very excited. I can’t wait to see how many comments will come through! There might even be something extra if I get more than 20…. and I don’t mean from the same person ha-ha!
I am not a car person. I like my off-the-ground Explorer! I just feel so much safer in it. It seems that the higher up I am, the better I feel. I like turning my behind around and sitting in the seat, instead of squatting to get in. The fact that I don’t have to duck my head is good too. I also like that only an eighteen wheeler can drive by and see the mess in the back seat.
Friday Jason decided he needed to make a trip to Alabama to look at a camper for us. The only way he could go was in the Explorer. I swapped cars with him. I’m a good wife like that. Then about half-way through the afternoon I realized I have THREE kids. How was I going to fit three kids in the back of a Camaro Z28? If he hadn’t been gone for hours, I would have called him to come back. I was really stressing about this!
This Camaro is old. The seats are torn and they move! The dash has wires hanging everywhere. The radio is non-existent. When you toot the horn, blue sparks come from under the steering wheel. The worst part…. it is TOO fast. You barely tap the gas and you spin tires. I poked down the four-lane to pick up the kids Friday afternoon. I was so afraid I would be going way too fast.
After I cleaned the church with Mom, I took a deep breath and herded the big kids out to the car. I got them settled in. Then I went to put Zack in. His car seat would not fit behind the drivers seat. I had to get Tyler and Abbey Beth back out. I shoved the passenger seat as far forward as possible, and wiggled Zack’s seat in until it fit. Abbey got in the back beside Zack and Tyler scrunched his legs in the front seat. We made it home. I swore right then I’d never drive it again!
Then Sunday morning I went out to warm the Explorer before we left for church. The heater would not work. Jason came out to check it and told me I’d have to go in his car again! NOOOOO!! I don’t want to literally stuff three kids in his POJ (piece of junk). I did. We made it to and from church with no mishaps. I won’t swear to never drive it again, but if I don’t have to that would be great. That car scares me.

Love that story. I remember when Kate was a baby and my husband’s car ceiling was caving in. He was holding the cloth up with thumb tacks and if you sat in the back you were in danger of getting one that had fallen out of the ceiling in your backside.
HA HA!!! TOO FUNNY!
I hope he got the heater fixed in your Explorer!
I won’t drive Jeffrey’s truck again because he is so blame tickie with it.
I bet Tyler loved riding in Daddy’s car.
I am with you. I drove a Honda Passport for 11 years and HATED driving my husband’s cars. We recently sent the Passport to car heaven and got a new Honda CRV. I started driving hubby’s Honda Accord, since my commute is shorter than his and we figured that we would put less miles on it for a while. While it is a very nice car, I hate “sitting low” on the road.
I would say I am a good wife, letting hubby drive the new vehicle, but it is really just being frugal for me to drive the higher mileage car. (I drive 11 miles a day and the car sits all day in a parking lot.)
Your story is way funnier than mine! LOL!
